Whale Watching Tour (June to November)

Experience the majestic beauty of the Southern Right Whales basking in the warmer waters where they visit our shores every year between June and November/December to mate and calve. Hermanus has been recognized by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) as one of the 12 best whale watching destinations in the world. Fully grown whales can weigh up to 80 tonnes and nothing is more exciting to watch these gentle giants at certain points playing as close as five meters from shore...
The beautiful rustic Hemel-en-Aarde Road hosts the best world-class wineries, if time allows a stop for a wine tasting is highly recommended!

Please note that this tour is active in Whale season, from June to November.

Do a boat based whale watching tour in Hermanus :- 1h30 to 3 hours with a 2 hour trip duration. The permit allows the boat to approach the whales up to 50 metres but often they come closer to the boat to explore which is an experience to be treasured!

OR

Do land based whale watching in Hermanus, often they give the most spectacular show so close to shore, breeching, spy hopping, tail slapping and more  ... see possibly more whales on route back to Cape Town driving along the scenic Clarence Drive. We visit the penguins at Stony Point in Betty’s Bay and if time allows, a stop at Harold Porter Botanical Garden.
